LOCKED OUT

I was locked out of property, or virtual space three times within a week or so.I couldn’t access my financial services account even when I changed the log-in information. After repeated attempts I called to speak with an agent who told me that my username was slightly different. The automatic reset process registered only two thirds of what I had typed. I noted the change and was finally able to log in.

Taking a short nap one afternoon, I was awakened by the UPS driver. I went out to ask him a question and my door slammed shut behind me. I had no key or shoes, no phone or coat (just a hoodie) in 30-degree temperatures. Luckily, my rainboots sat in the inner hallway just waiting to be useful. My wonderful neighbors helped me call the locksmith who tried to open the lock with a pin, but the lock was too secure to give us access. In the third instance I was unable to access my Smashwords account for a few days. This site holds my e-book “Compassion in My Own Words,” https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/446617 After several emails with the help center, I was easily able to log in.

Here were three situations where I was unable to access my information and home within a short period of time. So many feelings came up for me to process: sadness, frustration, anger, confusion…

I am a writer - mostly about love and compassion. I believe that this is a profound way for me to be spiritual, by walking the walk and talking the talk.
